Entry level, minimal experience required.
This position assists the buyers with all buying/planning functions to ensure plant has all required raw materials on time for production, runs at a high efficiency as possible while maintaining high standards of quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records Collaborate with Purchasing Manager to run the purchasing department Special projects as assigned.
Work with Planner to ensure raw materials are on hand for production schedule Gather and file paperwork Assist with month end procedures Attend weekly vendor meetings Inputs purchase orders in DAX and send to vendor Follow up with vendors confirmations with in 24 hours of placing order EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS 2
years experience in purchasing with a food manufacturing company preferred.
Experience with DAX (ERP system) is preferred.
Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing documents, Microsoft Office High School diploma or equivalent Strong analytic and technical skills.
Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative and work well under pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with vendors, plant and planning team employees Sense of urgency; insuring tasks are getting done in a timely matter Flexible and able to adapt to growing demands and role definition changes Job Type:
