, is looking for an experienced Night Shift Machine Shop Supervisor to join our team.
This position requires someone who can lead/mentor other Machinists when producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Supporting the planning, organizing, managing, controlling, and evaluating the day-to-day operations of the shop floor to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality to meet the customer's specifications and delivery of schedule.
Studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Able to run mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to standards and specifications.
Assistance with job assignments for other machinists.
Able to explain work related activities and are properly authorized (signed off) by each Machinist at the completion of each operation are defined by the traveler.
Maintaining specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be familiar with FANUC Control.
Able to read drawings and blueprints, perform own inspection, ability to build own tools and run parts complete.
Capable of working independently and making effective decisions while executing tasks properly, so acceptable product quality is achieved.
Ability to supervise and mentor all Machinists in carrying out their responsibilities.
Working knowledge of 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis, or Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM) machining.
Experience working with close tolerance parts.
Demonstrate the ability to build own tooling, fixtures do own set-ups.
Thorough knowledge of quality inspection.
Ability to read blueprints, edit programs, load tools, and do own set-ups.
Work from minimum instructions, self-starter, and self-motivated.
Have basic computer programming knowledge.
Have experience rigging and hosting with an overhead crane.
Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
